Residents across my constituency have seen their properties valued at £0 as they do not have an EWS1 certificate.
The huge increase in unemployment as a result of the pandemic has left many leaseholders unable to sell or remortgage their property and accumulating unsustainable levels of debt.
The priority must be ensuring buildings are safe – therefore the Government must do more to ensure there are skilled professionals to undertake these assessments and that funding is available for those buildings which require remedial works.
